My new cockapoo puppy, Louise, is INSANE. Sweet, but just full of energy and into everything. She's proving very difficult to house train. I can see that she has the idea, because she asks to go out right before she pees or poops... but she only gives us about five seconds of warning and then she lets loose. She's almost 4 months old, but seems to have no ability to hold her urine yet. Is this normal? Should I worry?

I fear for my home! D:

Are you punishing her when she goes indoors? Dogs have to learn two things during house-breaking:
1- They have to learn to become comfortable going outside
2- They have to learn that bad things happen when they go indoors

You could try crate training her, but cockapoos are generally very energetic puppies, so she might fuss quite a bit at first. I had to train my Cookie the "old fashioned" way: whenever she used the carpet as a bathroom instead of the grass, she got her nose rubbed in the mess and a swat on the butt with a rolled up newspaper, along with scoldings of "Pee-Pee OUTSIDE!" or "Poo-Poo OUTSIDE!". That was about the only thing that worked on her.

Well,I have a dog named Louise also. She is a cockapoo. She does the exact same thing as your pooch. It sounds so much alike that we could be mother and daughter. Smile!!!!
